Blue-collar jobs aren’t second-class jobs. Our state’s economy needs skilled workers more than it needs university graduates, and our investment in secondary education needs to reflect this. Contrary to what kids are often taught, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a welder, plumber, electrician, mechanic, or skilled laborer.
